Forgive me fans for I have sinned.
It's been about a month since my last post.

So it begins during this Easter weekend. So how have you spent yours? Me, I've been writing up a storm. Good things are on the horizon. I already sent off the second book in my Azgarth's Chosen series - His Master's Control. I could have called it His Master's Choice, but I didn't want people to think it was a novel about a man and his cup of coffee. Bwahahahahha...

I'm also working on a sci-fi story that takes place during a time of war. Shifters v. Stagnants. So far it's awesome, and it introduces to types of shifters I've not really seen much written about, so it's going to be a little different. After, that it's back to the drawing board for the last of my Azgarth's Chosen series - His Master's Touch. Also, still working on the research for a historical set in New Jersey. I've actually started on that book, but it's way down on the TBW pile. I also want to get the tone and circumstances just right before I unleash it onto the world.

Finally, I'll be signing books at AAD in Savannah, GA in August, so if you want to meet me and get some of my books, please come see me.

His Master's Summons...Now Available

Hey All!

It's been a very long time since I've posted, but this past year has been filled with a horrible move in which my hubby and I lost a good portion of our books and comics. Getting settled took longer than I thought. Our dog was sick for a good part of the year getting used to living in Florida and trying to overcome writing in a townhouse none of us have really gelled in. But as they say, this too shall pass.

So, on top of it being a busy year, I have managed to at least write a few books and get one to publish. His Master's Summons, the first book in my Azgarth's Chosen series is now available from Dreamspinner Press Publications.

At the chasm between life and death lurks the art of reanimation.

When world-famous violinist Andres Valentine is pushed from a window to his death by Herr Maestro Wilhelm Kering, he is snatched back from the abyss by a doctor well-versed in reanimation. Contrary to popular belief, Andres’s life up to this point has not been filled with opulent soirees and adoring fans, but is controlled by a hellish force, a being of the dark fae—Azgarth.

Henri Vauss is a medical student who works for a man capable of raising the dead. Even though the practice is controversial, Henri sees the revolutionary side of the science and enjoys the challenges he finds in Dr. Stanslovich’s lab. Ever since taking on the case of Valentine, though, odd occurrences have infected the manor, making Henri question everything he believes about science and the world.

When Valentine confides to Henri that he wants to be rid of Azgarth’s bonds, Henri vows to find a way to free him, never expecting to get caught in the snare of the fae master.

I'm very proud of this book. It's getting great reviews so far. I've gone in a different direction with it than probably any other book I've written. It's dark and creepy and I had a lot of fun doing that --then I've always loved writing books with a bit more atmosphere in them.

On tap for the next few months....

I'm working on getting the second in the series out the door. It's finished, I just need to write the synopsis. I'm also working on a SF/military fantasy tentatively titled From the Ashes. Also, the third and final book in the Azgarth series. As always, there's a lot going on in my neck of the woods. I'll make sure and put down breadcrumbs this time.

Happy Reading!

Kiss of Death Cover Reveal and Updates

Ok, I think we can all agree I rather suck at keeping my pages updated. I really have to get better at this, as I have to get better at a lot of things. With this big move I'm making to Florida and writing my fingers to the bone...yeah, I'm in that place all writers enter once in a while where the hours of the day are not enough to allow them to finish all they have to do. In other words, I have a lot on deck.

This year is going to be super exciting. Not only is Kiss of Death, the final book in the Alchemists and Elementals series, due to release in May, but I've signed another contract with DSP in their Publication line for His Master's Summons. I'm very excited about this, since it's a rather dark and twisty tale for me. I have a few other lovely little books in the hopper. Real world, an historical, a few contemps that I'll be submitting. It never hurts to spread your wings and fly as often and as far as the will allows.

So here is to reading and writing more! See you in Florida.

Coming Soon

So here it is, the last day of September. Fall is beginning to kiss the air here in Northwestern, NJ. Soon the trees will turn colors and the beautiful fall foliage will paint the landscape in oranges, yellows and reds.

I love fall.

I hate what comes after, but I love the fall. Hayrides, corn mazes, Halloween. I wrote a little love story, about the beginning of a romance between a man of some means from the city, and a country farmer who owns almost the entire county--if not the town--he lives in. It's set in the days surrounding Halloween and the first week in November. I'm seriously thinking about letting someone do a quick edit on it and putting it up for sale on Amazon. It's a sweet story, no sex, only first kisses, but I think when a relationship is building, that's all you need. If this is successful, I might be persuaded to keep going with their stories and do one for the rest of the holidays. We'll see.

There is also the finishing up on His Master's Summons. Only have the last maybe 10K to go on that story then it's to the second draft for me. I love this story, though I've kind of fought with it in places. However, I don't believe I'm going to write the series straight through this time. There will be a break in between each book. Between His Master's Summons and His Master's Control will be a book set in the Prohibition Era that will contain no paranormal elements. I think I need that break to contemplate where the series is going and how best to tell Nikoli's story.

*taps lip* What else?

Hmm. I'll need one to go between His Master's Control and His Master's Touch - if you have any ideas what you'd like to see me write give me a shout out.

Until next time...happy reading.

Wow Has it Really Been that Long?

I am such a bad blogger, I should have all my blogging privileges revoked. Seriously! I am so not good at this. Not because I lack things to say --anyone who knows me also knows I'm very opinionated and never lack for words--but because I simply don't take the time to write on the blogs as I should.

I'm an author.

No great surprise or revelation there, but I also work in the healthcare industry so my time is not always my own. In addition to the days I work, I have other responsibilities that require me to sometimes make the 45 minute commute to the hospital in order to see to these obligations. (Lately it's been appointments for an on the job injury and re-certifications.) The time I spend writing my novels, short stories and novella is very precious to me. Yes, I'm even very protective and jealous of the time I take away from it to do other things. Including blogging. So when I do blog, I have a lot of things to catch up on.

1) Taste of Air - the second book in the Alchemists and Elementals series is out and available for purchase. Hurray!

2) Kiss of Death - book three is at DSP awaiting evaluation.

3) I've contracted Hot Water - a hotter book (as the name suggests) that is due to release in the fall. Waiting on a cover for it and to start edits. (Edits are due to start soon, so keep posted.)

4) Working on a new series titled Azgarth's Chosen, the first book is His Master's Summons. It's an amalgamation of Mary Shelley, the Bronte sisters, fairy tales and lore, set against the backdrop of Victorian Society. It's quite the project and book one has been, well, let's say it's been a roller coaster ride for me. I never know what these characters are going to do next. Take for instance the fae aspect of the book...never saw that coming in the outline. However, being the writer I am, I went with it. Why not? It's different. And I like different.

5) A Prohibition Era historical. This will have no magic or fae to it. It will be based in historical fact from the time period as I've been doing a lot of research and haven't yet even began to put fingers to keyboard to do more than build the Scrivener file.

This is not even taking into account all the projects for my other names. *sigh* I'm tiring myself out just looking at all the work. LOL.

But for now. Here's some eye candy for your viewing pleasure.

Have a great day, and happy reading,

Cassie

SOLD: Taste of Air - Alchemists and Elementals Book II

I'm proud to announce (as the title suggests) the sale of Taste of Air to Dreamspinner Press. This came at exactly the right time for hubby and me that I truly believe it was blessed. Projected release date is August - September 2014.

Working hard on book three at the moment, but it's coming along slowly. Still looking to work on a few of those awesome comtemps I have ideas for. As for the Christmas story I wanted to post here...very difficult to find a PDF platform that will hold the file without taking the reader to a page with all my account information. In these days of super-hackers, that just seems like a very bad idea. So, I'll keep searching - or hopefully blogger will make a widget/gadget that will allow peeps to upload PDF's directly from their computers and embed them into the file without all the fanfare, extra steps and outside influences. Yes, I'm looking directly at you blogger programmers.

2014 is going to be a great year and an awesome time to make dreams come true and get the positive energy flowing. (I'm starting to sound like my alchemists.)

Here's hoping your New Year looks as bright as mine!
